Malangatana Ngwenya

Malangatana Ngwenya was a Mozambican painter, poet, and musician, born in 1936 in the Gaza province of Mozambique. He grew up in a traditional environment, where he learned about the culture and beliefs of his people. Ngwenya's passion for art began at a young age, and he pursued it despite facing many obstacles, including a lack of formal training and limited access to art materials.

Ngwenya's work is characterized by its vibrant colors and bold imagery, which reflect his interest in social and political issues.
